@thefold2020 are going to be at Bentham Playing Fields this weekend with @jiveprints and @charliekondras , for a chilled couple of days of socially distanced making in the sunshine (fingers crossed for nice weather!).
.
On Saturday and Sunday, young design duo Jive will be running a FREE, playful, hands-on flag-making workshop exploring organic, geometric, positive, and negative shapes. The workshop will begin with an introduction to Jive Prints with a talk on their practice and experience in the UK and New Zealand. Following this, participants will take inspiration from their surroundings, exploring their own connection with Bentham. Small groups will then work collaboratively under the cover of a marquee, cutting out Matisse style paper cut-outs for an initial prototype, and then painting the chosen designs on the large scale flags! All materials will be provided and the workshop will be carried out safely according to current government COVID-19 guidelines.
.
The flags will be displayed in Bentham after the workshop, and can be used by the town for many years to come. Hourly sessions will take place at:
11.00
12.00
13.00
15.00
16.00
17.00
on both Saturday and Sunday and everyone who attends will receive a notebook and tote bag designed by Jive! Just drop by to take part, no booking needed.
.
To ensure the workshops are covid safe, only 6 people will be able to take part in Jive’s workshop at once. If you turn up and it’s full, you can sign up for a later slot and return at that time!
.
Also over the weekend, Charlie Kondras will be painting the mural you voted for on the skatepark. Drop by to meet Charlie and have a nosey at his work! Charlie will be getting a head start with the painting on Thursday and Friday so that by Sunday, the space will be transformed.
.
