@kendalpoetryfestival starts today and we’re so inspired by all of the poetry that is happening in the Lakes and Dales recently!
We currently have a poetry commission from Melissa Davies as part of our Nurturing Creativity Micro-Commissions which is an extension of her initial work into a full sequence considering what qualifies someone to join the discussion on landscape and environment—expect to see elements of Norway and the Lake District throughout!
We have also been working with students from John Riskin School and Grizedale Forest to create poetry pieces exploring their perspective on the future of the environment which will be carved into stone and displayed as a trail throughout the forest.
Kendal Poetry Festival have a great programme with lots of variety to get yourself immersed in the poetry of the Lakes and Dales including afternoon tea with Brewery poets, poetry for children and plenty of writing workshops.
View the full programme through the link in their bio.
