Boxer and Hound

Katy and Jake’s Settle coffee bar and bottle shop, Boxer and Hound, is a labour of love and the ticket to a country lifestyle for their family.

The couple moved to the area a couple of years ago from Bradford, attracted to Settle because the train links meant they could commute to their sales jobs in Leeds while allowing them to live in the countryside.

Katy explained: “We had had enough of being in a built up area. We looked around at where we’d like to live and chose Settle because we could commute easily on the train. Then when we found out I was expecting our first child we started thinking about how we could adapt our lifestyles to raise a family in the area and we heard about the empty shop in Settle. Grace was born on the day we got the keys.

“We love being a part of the community here and having our business in the heart of the town means we can really make the most of that. We have got to know lots of people and regular customers have become our friends.”
